Need tips to enhance audio quality in my ride (JBL sound system issues)

Picked up a '21 Camry with the JBL premium sound system. Fancy right? Well, the "premium" part must've taken a wrong turn somewhere because the sound is so underwhelming that I'm debating if silence might actually be better. Seriously, even my old shower radio had more personality.

So what's the deal? Any tips or tricks to make this system actually sound great? Are we talking about upgrading components, or is there some magical setting I'm missing? Help me out here. I'd love to actually enjoy some tunes in my new ride without cringing at every bass drop

If you don't like it, you can change your audio system into the one you like better, oooooor you can add amp and subwoofer. I did the second one, and it sounds rad now

actually the jbl in the camry is kinda underwhelming, the muddy mids, weak bass, and no sparkle, oh well, no magic fixi but tweaking the EQ should help. or adding amp like @CoffeeAndTV suggested should help

factory settings are just way off. JBL is actually good... why are you giving it too much sh!t sound profiles can be adjusted like all other sound systems so... but if you're feeling an upgrade then go for it

I agree with this, try first adjusting your eq settings like bass, mid and treble. Boosting the bass or tweaking the mids can add some life to the sound.

Appreciate the suggestion! Did you go for a specific brand or model for your setup? I'm curious how much of a difference the overall audio quality made.

I tried a camry with the jbl and it's better than mine which doesn't have it, but I agree with op, it's not as premium as I'd like. It need an upgrade and if you ask me, I'd get replacement speakers and a new amp

Got the EQ settings dialed in but if the tunes still don't hit the sweet spot, I'm ready to dive into upgrades.
