Best front door speaker upgrade for a camry?

looking to upgrade the front door speaker in my camry and could use some advice. The stock ones just aren't cutting it anymore, and I want better sound without breaking the bank. For those who have swapped theirs, what speakers fit best? any plug and play options, or will I need adapters? also, is sound quality noticeably better with just a speaker swap, or do I need an amp too?

Just a speaker swap will give you clarity and mid but if you want more of the bass and the volume then you'll need the amp. as for speakers i think 6.5 inches will be good but you are probably going to need bracket or adapters, depending on the model of your camry. what year is the car?

i can vouch for the JBL GTO939 (copy this and you'll find the exact model online and the price). i prefer mine with a solid bass and clear treble so for me this produces really premium sound. play on some radiohead and you're gonna have the time of your life or "under pressure" by queen.

I upgraded my camry speakers with Pioneer TS-A1670F and JBL GTO629, and they fit well with a few adapter tweaks. You'll notice better sound right away, but adding an amp would give it an extra boost if you want more power.

haven't tried JBL GTO629 but i was considering it. what do you think of it? i'm a brand loyalist so i can maybe try this one after the 939. :)

I had to stop babying your ears with mediocre setups. the 629s is really eating it! it has clean mids, tight highs, not just boom boom nonsense, please do try it out and I would like to know how it goes

I completely agree with this. While a speaker upgrade is nice, a full system upgrade is even better. As for the speaker options, there are companies that make plug and ply options which will make your life so much easier as you won't have to bother with brackets and all that annoying stuff

So many recos but most are saying that the JBL GTO629 is best. will defnitely do mental note for future reference

What you need to do is to check ur budget, man. That'll help narrow down options.
