Looking into fluid service on '23 Camry Hybrid

My dad has a '23 Toyota Camry Hybrid and wants to know what fluids are DIY-friendly. Is inverter coolant the same as engine coolant and how often do you change it? Wondering if brake fluid is something we can flush at home.

TBH flushing the brake fluid is doable at home, as long as you have the right tools plus anyone who can help you. Take note tho. Inverter coolant isn't quite the same as engine coolant, so make sure to use what Toyota specifies for each.

I've since looked it up and see that Toyota specifies their pink Super Long Life Coolant for both systems on this model. Is there a special bleeding procedure required for the inverter cooling system after a drain and fill?

Yeah, the inverter system usually has its own bleed procedure and on most Toyotas, you'll need to run the car and let it reach operating temp, then cycle the heater and A/C to push air out.

Wait, why as you asking about coolant and brake fluid on a 2023 model? You're way too early to replace those. To answer your question, every fluid on the car is DIY if you have some skills, a couple of brain cells and some tools. The brake fluid will probably give you the most trouble because the system is a bit complicated and it's a special process to bleed it. Also, don't try to replace the power steering fluid, there isn't one, it's an electric rack. My advice is to find a repair manual and see the processes.

The car is still pretty new, but my dad likes to keep up with maintenance, even if it seems early. From what I’ve found, you don’t need to use service mode for the inverter, but you do need to have the car in READY mode and keep an eye on the level while the pump runs. For the brake fluid, I know it’s trickier due to the ABS, but we’re considering it if we can do it safely without triggering any warning lights. Has anyone here flushed the brake fluid on a hybrid Camry without a scan tool? If so, did you have any problems with pedal feel or system resets?
