Just in the mood for sharing, to anyone who needs to replace their electric water pumps on their Camry. This is a 2018 by the way but im sure its pretty much the same to any nearby models.
First, remove the engine shield in the front from under the radiator to access the radiator drain. 10mm or philips head screws and 2 clips hold it. Then a hose up and drain the fluid. Lift up on belt tensioner (14mm) and remove the belt from the alternator shjeave. Never take the belt off the other sheaves or pulleys. Then go undo the electrical connection from the water pump. Take off the water pump but you'll need to remove four 12mm bolts from the front of the engine. These bolts also secure the pump's electrical casing to the seal plate.. In my case, the casing came off first, showing the internal circuit board and stator, then I had to carefully shake off the plate that holds the rotor and impeller. You can throw or keep the replaced parts, up to you. Next, replace the water pump by reversing the removal steps and refill the coolant. You should consider replacing the rotor/impeller during coolant changes. Bleed air from the EGR valve hose while filling the coolant. After starting,, use the ECU's coolant flush mode to ensure proper coolant circulation. The rotor-impeller assembly, held magnetically and with an o-ring can be removed once the pump is off. Plastic cover cracks are a common failure leading to magnet corrosion and friction from rubbing against the casing, which is what I experienced. Some complains that you could not simply order the rotor, though I found one at aliexpress. I'm not sure if it is the same as the Camry rotor, but for $15 Im going to order one to see if it fits.
